Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in this critique. I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this show and all the members for entering and attending. I would also like to thank the stewards for the running of the ring. I enjoyed going over all the dogs and found temperaments of all were good. Coats seemed to be a bit hit and miss today as it seemed a lot of people had taken them out after Crufts! Movement was generally good and I only found one bad mouth. I was extremely pleased with my overall winners and feel they are good examples of a Border Terrier.

Minor Puppy Dog 4- 0
1st: Hoathwood Habanero (Mrs S Hales)
7 month dark grizzle in excellent coat and condition. Lovely head with nice dark eye and keen expression. A well balanced dog with good front and rear angulation, super topline that was held on the move. Moved well on small catlike feet. This dog had a good show presence and should have a good future, it was a shame I could only give one best puppy award.
2nd: Master Foxy (Mr J Dean)
Just 6 months and showed but a well constructed pup with good potential. Another good head with correct ear set and keen expression. Lovely coat and good thick pelt. Coat would benefit from a tidy up!
3rd: Otterwood Heartbeat (Mr & Mrs M Hollingsbee)

Puppy Dog 4- 0
1st: Bandicoot Rock ‘n’ Roll (Mrs A Joyce)
Lovely red dog who was in a super tight jacket. Good strong head and muzzle, with dark eye and good ear set. Good front with good depth of rib but easily spanable. Level topline that was held on the move and lead into correct tail shape and set. Moved soundly round the ring on tight little feet. Maturity won him BP. RBD.
2nd: Master Foxy (Mr J Dean)
3rd: Dandyhow Douglas Fir (Mr T & Miss K Wrenn & Langdon)

Junior Dog 5 0
1st: Bandicoot Double Take (Mr G & Mrs V Docwra)
This dog caught my eye as he entered to ring as he has lovely show presence and his outline made him stand out. He was presented in super condition with a lovely grizzle harsh double jacket. Good reach of neck leading into super level topline. Good length and depth of rib and easily spanable. Nice straight front and good rear angulation. Overall a well balanced dog with a strong otter head. Well deserved BD and RBIS.
2nd: Sextonmagic Willowherb (Mrs K J Blakemore)
A similar dog to 1, a little longer in body and not such a strong head but in good coat and condition. A good mover.
3rd: Bingo Bongo Hollywood Blues (Messers Buckle & Flowers)
VHC: Colourbox Gunpower (Mrs Fordham)
